Dara Training and Consultancy was founded in January 2004. Dara’s experience derives from a decade of working with individuals, communities, organisations, local authorities and universities in the countries of south east Europe, U.K and Ireland in contributing to civil society

Peter has considerable experience in the voluntary and statutory sectors. He originally trained as a Youth and Community worker and later as a therapist. He has also lectured in University, locally in Northern Ireland and as an external teacher in the University of Jonkoping in Sweden: he has taught in Northern Ireland, Sweden, Serbia,Bosnia, Croatia,Macedonia and Montenegro . Over many years he has developed supervision expertise with students and workers in a variety of sectors. He works as an associate in Blessington Psychological Services. He was instrumental in creating projects in Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Macedonia with post conflict social reconstruction as the focus. He has published a number of articles detailing aspects of his work. Peter is currently engaged in PhD research on his work in the Former Yugoslavia. |

Mary trained as a language teacher and after teaching for one year in a Belfast school, Mary went to Spain to teach languages. She then worked in Sudan as a teacher for 3 years with APSO (now Irish Aid) and spent a further two years in Argentina working in education including university undergraduate courses and adult literacy programmes. Mary became engaged in working in community relations when she returned to Northern Ireland in 1987 to raise her children. To support this work she undertook a Diploma in Adult Education and Reconciliation from NUI. She has worked with Peter on projects in both Ireland and in the former Yugoslavia. Mary is a mediator with extensive experience in community and workplace mediation and has trained in family mediation. She currently works with young people and communities in restorative justice practice. |
